In Rob's own words
When asked, “what is it that you do?” I would like to tell people is that “I'm a storyteller.”
Unfortunately, that raises images of reading fairy tales at the local community center. Not that I'd object to a gig like that – a more wonderful and participative audience you couldn't ask for - but no, it's easier to stick with “I design websites” or “I do illustration and design for marketing” or “I help companies connect with their customers”.
But websites, blogging, PowerPoint, illustration, audio and video casts, newsletters, brochures, print media; those are all just tools and tactics. My job is to learn a company's story and then, using the right tools at hand, tell that story exceptionally well. I'm a storyteller.
