Tragic Blogs or
Have yourself a non-denominational, gender non-specific, twenty-fifth of December...

I've noticed a huge spike in people visiting the site over the past few days. At first I thought it might be a festivus miracle, but I quickly learned that everyone is coming to take a gander at my short comic, The Cat Carol. So to make it easier for folks looking, I'm putting The Cat Carol as the item 'Currently on the Drawing Board'. I hope that those passing through enjoy the comic and come back some time to take a peek at my other work.

I would like, again, to thank Bruce Evens for granting me permission to adapt the song into comics. I urge folks who are as moved by the song as I was to drop by his site at www.thecatcarol.com and drop a buck or two into his PayPal donation jar.

To you and yours, have a safe and happy time over the next couple of weeks. I'm busy toiling away on some new comics for the new year...

Tragic Blogs or
That's a wrap folks...

And that brings Starscream's Revenge to a close. I do apologize for the size of the file - especially for those of you on dial-up. At 1Mb the file will take a while, so click the link and then go grab a cup o' tea or something. It will be up by the time you get back.

For anyone that's trying to puzzle some meaning behind the odd patterns the panels and trails eventually leave, don't bother. It's all pretty random. I open up all the panels individually in Photoshop, and then create one massive canvas about 10,000 pixels long and wide. At 72dpi that would measure about 100 square feet. I then drag and drop all the panels onto the canvas and start shifting them about until it feels right. Once the story feels like it flows properly, I draw in the trail.

It's all very random and has to do with my mood at the time. I could do the same comic several times over and get a completely different trail pattern each time. Maybe, someday for fun, I'll do that. See how the different trail patterns affect the telling of the tail - if at all.

Anyways - aside from the odd blog - this will be my last update to the site in 2003. I've a number of comics in the works and have been dithering about with the site design. I'll start unleashing it all on you in 2004. See y'all in the new year

Tragic Gripes or
My kingdom for a babysitter...

The sitter fell through today and so my lady love and I were unable to see Return of the King on opening day. Now I know the film will be out for months on end. I'm not afraid of missing it in any sense. And having read the books many times over, the fear of spoilers is thankfully low.

It's just really really weird for her and I to not have been at the first showing, 12 midnight sharp.

I'm beginning to feel old.
(quietly sings to himself) I don't wanna grow up I'm a Toys R Us kid...(/mournful singing)

But to Moscow chicks he was such a lovely dear...

87 years ago, they poisoned, shot, then dumped Rasputin into an icey river. Today I'm rockin' away to Boney M's tune. You know the words, sing along with me.

RAH RAH RASPUTIN
Lover of the Russian queen
They put some poison into his wine
RAH RAH RASPUTIN
Russia's greatest love machine
He drank it all and he said "I feel fine"

RAH RAH RASPUTIN
Lover of the Russian queen
They didn't quit, they wanted his head
RAH RAH RASPUTIN
Russia's greatest love machine
And so they shot him till he was dead

Tragic's Late or
Ohmigod it's Friday... Yesterday?!

Sorry folks. It's been one of those weeks that just blended together into a solid, neverending day. It only dawned on me now that yesterday was Friday. The latest (and almost last) panel for Starscream's revenge has been uploaded. Next week will be the conclusion.
