- Day one of giving Vista a spin on the laptop and so far so good. No plans to downgrade as of yet. #
- As a side note, Microsoft if listening,I’m willing to preface good things I say re:Vista with ‘So what’s the deal with Vista?’ for only $5M #
- @JHVanOphem No, I’m worth 10x a Seinfeld. However I’m willing to give them a bargin on the sole condition my Vista continues working well. #
- next test for the laptop will be to see if it can handle Second Life. If it manages that, I may toss Painter and my Wacom drivers onto it. #
- @thegrandepoobah well, the laptop is more for putzing about on and keeping connected on the road. Desktop is the one i *NEED* to work. #
- @thegrandepoobah But I needed to try Vista sooner or later because eventually there won’t be an XP. Next jump would be to Linux. #
- @JHVanOphem I debated Ubuntu - but part of the laptop usage is inevitably going to be work related and thus I need M$ Office. #
- @danschawbel ‘fake it til you make it’? No. Ethically, if you don’t have the skills to perform a job, you need to let folks know. #
- @JHVanOphem I’m a fan of OpenOffice and have it on my desktop, but there are minor inconsistencies when moving file between .odt and .docx #
- @JHVanOphem I need to know that what *I* see is what the *client* will get.Best way for that is to run what clients run. That means Office. #
- @JHVanOphem ditto for IE7 and IE6. Only wish I could have both versions of IE on one ‘puter. Desktop is being kept on 6. Laptop on 7. #
- @JHVanOphem tried it… and FAIL. I mean MAJOR FAIL. Important lesson learned - make sure what you see is what client will see. #
- @JHVanOphem Everything looked fine on my standalone IE6 but on client’s real vers of IE6 the CSS was knocked all kerflooey. #
- @upsidedownjim Hello - and welcome to twitter. You can do anything on twitter. The only limit is your imagination. Welcome. This is twitter. #
