Are you the one with a website?

brrrrring, brrrrrring, a customer's calling

It’s surprising, but most businesses still do not have a website.

Numbers from Stats Canada would suggest that only one out of three private businesses in Canada have an online presence.

Surveys (such as the one by Kelsey Group in March, 2005) show that seven out of ten people are using the internet to look for local businesses, and that four out of those seven are searching for info with the intent on spending cash.

That there are businesses out there willing to miss out on those customers is surprising. But what’s shocking is that it’s not just the local hairdresser, the mom and pop convenience store or the restaurant around the corner who are lacking a website; it’s small and mid-cap companies. Publicly traded companies who are working out of a hotmail account and not a single page of their own info online.

Almost everyone in Canada has internet access, either at home or at work. More than ever, the internet is the source for finding information, communicating and doing business.

It’s simple - if your business doesn’t have a website, you may as well not have a phone.
